Yazz Privacy Policy

We recognize that your privacy is very important. This privacy policy covers the policies of Yazz (“Yazz”) on the collection, use, and disclosure of your information, including any personally identifiable information or other data collected that could directly or indirectly identify you (“Personal Data”) when you access the Yazz website (the “Site”), our mobile application (the “App”) or anytime you use our other products or services (the Site, the App and other YAZZ products and services, altogether, the “Services”).

Each time you use our Services, you consent to the collection, use and storage of the collected information as described in this Privacy Policy. Please read it carefully and contact us at customerservice@yazzapp.com  if you have any questions.


  1. What information do we collect?

Account Registration Information.  If wish to register for an account, we may collect your name, phone number, email address, photo and password. If you decide to sign up for our Services using your Facebook, Apple ID or other 3rd party account, we will also get basic information from your 3rd party account profile like your name, your 3rd party account user id and your email address.

Photos of User Items. As part of our Services, to allow Drivers to assess the Tasks, we may ask you to upload photos, or utilize our App features to take photos, of your items to be moved during your Task.

User Payment Information.  As part of our Services, our third party payment processing service provider, Stripe, may collect credit card information or other payment method information from you. We do not store these information on our servers.

Driver Information.  If you are interested in becoming a Driver, as part of the application process we may collect information such as your name, physical address, driver’s license information, vehicle information, car registration information, car insurance information, and in some jurisdictions we may collect additional business license or permitting information. We may receive from our third party partners information such as publicly available information about your driving record or criminal history.

Driver Background Check Information.  If you are interested in becoming a Driver, as part of the application process our third party background check service provider, such as Checkr, may collect information such as your name, date of birth and social security number or other information from you. We do not store your date of birth or social security number information on our servers.

Driver Tax and Payment Information.  As part of our Services, our third party payment processing service provider, Stripe, may collect credit card information, bank account information or other payment method information from you. We do not store the payment information on our servers.


Location Information.  In order for us to match you with nearby Drivers, determining drop off and pickup locations, we need to know your location. When you open the App on your mobile device, we receive your location.  Driver’s location information and distance travelled is necessary for calculating charges and insurance.  We may also collect the precise location of your device when the App is running in the foreground or background

Mobile Device Data. When you access our App through a mobile device, we receive information from your devices, including IP address, web browser type, mobile operating system version, phone carrier and manufacturer, application installations, device identifiers, push notification tokens, and, if you register with your Facebook account, your Facebook identifier. We collect mobile sensor data from Drivers’ devices (such as speed, direction, height, acceleration or deceleration) to improve location accuracy and analyze usage patterns.

Ratings. Users and Drivers may rate and review each other at the end of every Task. We receive information about ratings and reviews and, as we explain below, give Users information about Drivers’ ratings and reviews and vice versa.

Online Usage Activity. To help us understand how you use the Yazz Platform and help us improve it, we automatically receive information about your interactions with the Yazz Platform, like the pages or other content you view, your actions within the App, and the dates and times of your visits.

Cookies. We collect information through the use of “cookies”, tracking pixels, and similar technologies to understand how you navigate through the Yazz Platform and to save your preferences. Cookies are small text files that web servers place on your device; they are designed to store basic information and to help websites and apps recognize your browser. We may use both session cookies and persistent cookies. A session cookie disappears after you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains after you close your browser and may be accessed every time you use the Yazz Platform. You should consult your web browser(s) to modify your cookie settings. Please note that if you delete or choose not to accept cookies from us, you may be missing out on certain features of the Yazz Platform.

Services and Customer Support. We may collect information such as your name, phone number and email address to the extent necessary for us to provide the Services that you have requested and/or to provide customer support.


  1. How do we use the collected information?  

We use the information we collect for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, as covered in any agreement that incorporates this Privacy Policy, or as disclosed to you in connection with our Services. For example, we will use your information to:

Aggregate Data. In an ongoing effort to better understand and to serve the Users of our Services, we may conduct research on our User demographics and behavior based on Personal Data and other information that has been provided or received by us. This research may be compiled and analyzed on an aggregate basis and this aggregate information does not identify you personally and will not be treated as Personal Data under this Privacy Policy.


  1. Is Information Collected by or Disclosed to Third Parties by using the Services?

We do not share, sell or rent to third parties your information except as described in this Privacy Policy.  Examples of instances in which we share your information are provided below:


a.               Information Users and Drivers share on our Services.  Users and Drivers that have been matched for a Task are able to see basic information about each other, such as names, photos, ratings and any other information they have added to their profiles. Drivers see the pick-up location that the User has provided.  Users see a Driver’s vehicle information and real-time location as the Driver approaches the pick-up location.


We may offer you the ability to post photos of your items to be moved through public areas in our Services. Because photos of your items shared through those public areas can be seen by others, we caution all Users to consider what they post and not to disclose any information which they consider private or confidential. Yazz will not be responsible in the event that you disclose private or confidential information in your posts, through our public services or during any other communication with other Users.


b.               Third party service providers. We, like many businesses, sometimes engage other companies to perform certain business-related functions on our behalf so that we can focus on our core business. Examples of these services include, but are not limited to, website evaluation and data analysis, background check service providers, insurance partners, payment processing and authorization, marketing and promotional material distribution.  We authorize them to use this Personal Data only in connection data security and privacy standards.


c.               Business transfers. We may sell, assign, buy, transfer or otherwise acquire or dispose of certain of our businesses or corporate assets. In the event of such or similar event, Personal Data we collected from you may be part of the transferred assets. We may also share Personal Data with our auditors, attorneys or other advisors in connection with the forgoing corporate transactions. You acknowledge and agree that any successor to or acquirer of us will continue to have the right to use your Personal Data and other information in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy.


d.               Aggregate Data.  In an ongoing effort to better understand and to serve the users of our Services, we may conduct research on our user demographics and behavior based on Personal Data and other information that has been provided or received by us. This research may be compiled and analyzed on an aggregate basis, shared with third parties and this aggregate information does not identify you personally and will not be treated as Personal Data under this Privacy Policy


e.               Website Analytics.  We utilize Facebook Analytics and Google Analytics to track user events on our Services. Facebook Analytics and Google Analytics may utilize cookies, pixel tags and similar technologies to collect, use, share and store anonymous, aggregate data about end users activities on our Services. f.                 Legal requirements.  We may disclose your Personal Data if required to do so by law (including, without limitation responding to a subpoena or request from law enforcement, court or government agency or other public authorities) or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary (i) to comply with a legal obligation, (ii) to protect or defend our rights, interests or property or that of other customers or users, (iii) to act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of the Services or the public, or (iv) to protect against legal liability or potential fraud, as determined in our sole discretion.


g.               Your consent.  If we intend to use any of your Personal Data collected in any manner that is not specified herein, we will inform you of such anticipated use prior to or at the time at which such Personal Data is collected or we will obtain your consent subsequent to such collection but prior to such use. In short, we will honor the choices you make regarding your Personal Data and will inform you about any other intended uses of such information.



  1. Linking to or from Third Party Social Media Platforms.

Users may follow YAZZ on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other social media platforms as made available from time to time. Users should click on the hyperlinks for each site to review the applicable privacy policies for more detail about information collected from these sites.



  1. How Does YAZZ Comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act?

Our Services are directed toward a general audience and are not directed at nor intended for use by children.  We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13 without parental consent. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should contact us at customerservice@yazzapp.com . We will delete such information from our files within a reasonable time.


6.          Processing in USA.

Please be aware that your Personal Data and communications may be transferred to and maintained on servers or databases located outside your state, province, or country.  If you are located outside of USA, please be advised that the laws in USA may not be as protective of your privacy as those in your location.  By using our Services, you agree that the collection, use, transfer, and disclosure of your Personal Data and communications will be governed by the applicable laws in USA.

7.          Updating Information; Cancellation.

If your Personal Data changes, or if you no longer desire our Services, you may correct, delete inaccuracies, amend or remove it by updating your profile using the features available our App or by contacting us at customerservices@yazzapp.com.


8.          How long does YAZZ retain information collected?  

We follow generally accepted standards to store and protect the Personal Data we collect, both during transmission and once received and stored, including utilization of encryption where appropriate.  We retain Personal Data only for as long as necessary to provide the Services you have requested and thereafter for a variety of legitimate legal or business purposes. These might include retention periods (i) mandated by law, contract or similar obligations applicable to our business operations; (ii) for preserving, resolving, defending or enforcing our legal/contractual rights (for example, collect any fees owed, resolve disputes, assist with investigations, enforce our Terms of Service); or (iii) needed to maintain adequate and accurate business and financial records.  If you have any questions about the security or retention of your Personal Data, you can contact us at customerservice@yazzapp.com.


9.          What is YAZZ’s Security Policy?

We have implemented reasonable administrative, technical and physical security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, destruction or alteration. For example, we limit access to this information to authorized employees and contractors who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our Services. However, although we endeavor to provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can ever by 100% secure.


10.   How Does YAZZ Respond to “Do Not Track” Signals?

“Do Not Track” is a feature enabled on some browsers that sends a signal to request that a web application disable its tracking or cross-site user tracking. At present, YAZZ does not respond to or alter its practices when a Do Not Track signal is received.


11.   How Will I Be Notified of Changes to Your Privacy Policy?

If YAZZ makes material changes to its Privacy Policy, it will notify you by: (i) changing the Last Updated Date at the top of the Privacy Policy, (ii) sending an email to its users, and/or (iii) adding a statement to the Site.
